What is the Oddball Paradigm?

The oddball paradigm is an experimental technique used to study cognitive processes, attention, and brain activity.

Procedure

In the oddball paradigm, participants are presented with a series of stimuli, typically auditory or visual. The majority of the stimuli are "standard" stimuli, while a small number are "oddball" stimuli that are different in some way from the standard stimuli. Participants are instructed to respond to the oddball stimuli while ignoring the standard stimuli.
